Edible bird's nest inhibits the inflammation and regulates the immunological balance of lung injury mice by SO ₂

The purpose was to investigate effect of edible bird's nest (EBN) on the immunological properties mice with lung injury induced by sulfur dioxide (SO2). In mice, SO2 exposure caused symptoms that included a cough, tiredness, and weight loss. Administering EBN improved function in dose-dependent manner, leading recovery tissue increasing thymus spleen indices. IL-2 IFN-γ serum Th1 cells response played role cellular immune regulation. Moreover, medium dose regulated stress response, inhibited apoptosis splenic lymphocytes, promoted immunity. production IL-8 MDA upregulated mRNA expression atrophin-1 cyclooxygenase-2 tissue. attenuates through mechanism involves inhibition inflammation regulation balance.
